  • Conduct tree assessments for residential properties, public areas, parks, and woodlot or forest tenures.

 

  • Certify the safety of a tree or recommend methods to eliminate the potential safety risk.

  • Provide documentation of the tree assessment results                                    for permitting applications and bylaw enforcement.

 

  • Identify and protect safe wildlife trees by assessing the visual signs of weakness (e.g., splits, cavities, conks, root damage, signs of advanced rot, and the lean of the tree).

 

  • Perform a detailed tree assessment involving root probing and/or stem sampling when required.

 

  • Cut down danger trees, remove the hazardous portion of the danger tree or establish a no-work zone around the danger tree.

 

  • Flag hazard areas or no-work zones and incorporate these leave areas into a wildlife tree retention strategy.
